The Sultanate of Oman, referred to as Oman for short, is located in West Asia, bordering the United Arab Emirates in the northwest, Saudi Arabia in the west and Yemen in the southwest. It guards the Strait of Hormuz, the world's most important oil export channel. As early as 2000 BC, it has carried out extensive sea and land trade activities and has become a shipbuilding center in the Arabian Peninsula.

According to the ministerial decree (107/2018) of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) of the Sultanate of Oman, the Directorate General for Standards and Metrology (DGSM) designates an independent third-party conformity assessment body to issue energy efficiency labels for air-conditioning products in accordance with the Gulf Standard GSO 2530: 2016 "Energy Labeling and Minimum Energy Performance Requirements For Air-Conditioners", which will be enforced on July 25, 2019. On January 7, 2021, China Quality Certification Center (CQC) was authorized by DGSM to become its designated body.

Scope :

Single-package of window type, split-system non-ducted air conditioners using air-cooled condensers, split-system ducted air-conditioners using air-cooled condensers, and heat pumps using air-cooled condensers for residential, commercial and industrial sectorswith capacities up to and including 70000 Btu/h (20kW).

Attention:

1. Before registering Oman's energy efficiency label, the product must first obtain the Gulf type examination certification, and it shall cover Oman as one of the evaluated countries of destination for the products.

2. The registration period of energy efficiency labels is 1/2/3 years, and the manufacturer is obliged to make reconfirmation of registration within 2 months before the expiration date of the registration date every year.
