Energy Star is a voluntary energy conservation program led by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). At present, seven countries and regions have participated in the Energy Star Program promoted by EPA, including the U.S., Canada, Japan, Chinese Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, and the European Union. In these countries and regions, the Energy Star mark is highly recognized by the market, reaching 85% in the U.S.
The Program currently includes energy efficiency certification, energy-saving home program, energy-efficient new home program, and energy strategies for buildings and plants.
Specifically, energy efficiency certification began with electronic products and gradually extended to household appliances, lighting equipment, building products, etc. At present, it covers eight categories of nearly 40 products, including electronics, household appliances, lighting and fans, office equipment, cooling and heating equipment, water heaters, and building products.
