The VDA6 series of standards are supplementary to the ISO 9001 quality management standards. Specifically, VDA6.2 outlines special requirements for quality management systems in service organizations within the automotive industry, while VDA6.4 details special requirements for quality management systems in manufacturers of production equipment for the automotive industry. Adhering to these standards facilitates better collaboration among all parties involved. Obtaining VDA6.2 and VDA6.4 certifications serves as an important reference for automobile manufacturers and their suppliers in selecting suitable service organizations and equipment manufacturers.
