CQC hosted the "Empowering the Future, Collaborative Efforts" 2023 Smart Use Conference

On December 17th, the 2023 Smart Use Conference, jointly organized by the CQC, Zhongguancun Smart Use AI Research Institute, Chaoyang Park Management Committee of Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, and the Enterprise Technology Capability Evaluation Professional Committee of the China International Cooperation Association for Small and Medium Enterprises, was successfully held in Beijing.

Themed "Empowering the Future, Collaborative Efforts", the conference featured important annoucements, strategic agreements, thematic discussions, and roundtable forums. It adopted a hybrid format, engaging over 200 in-person attendees and attracting more than 200,000 online viewers. A keynote video address was delivered by Academician Zheng Nanning from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, while Yang Hongfu, Director of the Chaoyang Park Management Committee of Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, along with Xu Shaoshan, Party Committee member and Deputy Managing Director of CQC, graced the event with their presence and speeches.

In his speech, Xu Shaoshan highlighted that in the era of new industrialization, the swift advancement of large-scale models and industry-specific frameworks has been paramount in driving artificial intelligence innovation. An increasing array of industry models are being tailored to fit distinct industrial use cases, and these emerging technologies are becoming fundamental to the digital transformation of various sectors.Xu Shaoshan conveyed his aspiration for the conference to fully display the latest advancements in artificial intelligence research, spurring further innovation and collaborative efforts. As a member of the "national team" and as pioneers of quality services, Xu hopes CQC can collaborate closely with governmental bodies, academic institutions, and entities throughout the industry supply chain. Their collective goal is to support the progression of the AI industry and actively encourage the robust growth and in-depth usage of AI technology in China.

The conference put a spotlight on "utilization," emphasizing the dissemination of critical developments in AI applications across industrial and corporate automation. Showcased were a variety of key initiatives like the digital industry ecosystem service system, an AI evaluation framework rooted in application scenarios, the "Industrial Large Model Application White Paper," the "AI Large Model Talent Development Report," AI talent cultivation schemes, and the Intelligent Computing Cloud platform, all meant to offer intelligent transformation services for diverse sectors.

The AI evaluation system unveiled by CQC encompasses several aspects, including the verification of AI enterprise abilities, assessments of algorithms and their fit for specific scenarios, adaptability evaluations for large industry models and associated contexts, and testing for both chips and algorithmic compatibility. The goal is to quantify organizational technological prowess and make project delivery potentials more tangible through credible third-party evaluations. This framework is set to highlight superior technical offerings for the industry and provide trustworthy third-party services for project verification, thereby bolstering innovation in industrial application scenarios.

At the conference, CQC and the Zhongguancun Smart Use AI Research Institute jointly unveiled the "White Paper on Large Model Applications in Industry." Certificates were awarded to representative enterprises that contributed to the authoring and had been selected for demonstrating 58 exemplary cases of large model application in various industries.

In the thematic sharing sessions, key industry figures such as Sun Mingjun, Director of the Zhongguancun Smart Use AI Research Institute; Ye Jieping, Vice President of Alibaba; Gao Fei, Director of the Data Intelligence Department at Henan Investment Group Co., Ltd. and General Manager of Henan Huirong Digital Technology Co., Ltd.; and Wei Kai, Executive Deputy Director of the Artificial Intelligence Research Center at the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, offered their insights. They covered a range of topics including AI technology and AI large models, providing the audience with a rich trove of industry knowledge.

The roundtable forum featured discussions on "The Momentum and Opportunities for Artificial Intelligence and Industrial Transformation Post-Adoption Period," with Xu Xin, Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University; Ma Yue, Chairman of Open Source China; Hou Zhenyu, Vice President of Baidu Group; and Hong Tao, Co-President of Baichuan Intelligence, delving into conversations about the post-adoption trajectory of AI.


This successful conference marks a significant step by CQC in implementing intelligent manufacturing development strategies and actively fostering an origin of original technology in intelligent manufacturing. The event aimed to empower various industries through AI technology, stimulate the growth of an ecosystem partnership platform, and make meaningful contributions to the progress of the AI industry, its industrial applications, the deepening of China’s new industrialization process, and the pursuit of high-quality development.
