CQC Participates in the "BRI" Green Development Round Table Conference

On May 10, 2023, the "Belt and Road" Green Development Round Table Conference and the annual member meeting of the "Belt and Road" Green Development International Alliance were held in Beijing. Initiated by the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the event took place under its guidance. Dignitaries in attendance included Huang Runqiu, Minister of Ecology and Environment; Fu Haiyan, Minister of Sustainability and the Environment of Singapore; Roberto Romolini, Special Envoy of the World Wildlife Fund; and Steer, President and CEO of the Bezos Earth Fund. Zhao Yingmin, Vice Minister of Ecology and Environment, presided over the opening ceremony. Xie Zhaoxu, Director of CQC, was invited to attend the meeting.


This meeting marked the first annual member meeting of the Alliance, with 42 Chinese and foreign institutions joining as members. The election of Alliance directors and the approval of the charter took place during the event. CQC became a director unit of the Alliance, and Xie Zhaoxu was elected as an Alliance director.


As the sole domestic third-party certification body participating in the Alliance's "Environmental Laws, Regulations, and Standards" thematic partnership system, CQC actively conducts related research, training, and exchanges. CQC aims to provide support in environmental laws, regulations, and standards for the construction of a green "Belt and Road," promoting the exchange and transfer of advanced green and low-carbon technologies and facilitating the development of green infrastructure construction, green investment, and trade.


The Alliance is the first international environmental organization jointly initiated by non-governmental organizations, research institutions, and enterprises in the global ecological environment and sustainable development fields under the framework of the green "Belt and Road." The Alliance aims to build a mechanism-based and international multilateral cooperative platform to promote the co-construction of national green low-carbon transitions. The organization intends to jointly achieve the United Nations' 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and build a community of shared future for humanity and nature.
