CQC Co-hosts Signing Ceremony of Mutual Recognition of Carbon Labels Between Guangdong and Hong Kong

On April 25, 2023, during the 133rd China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), CQC co-hosted the signing ceremony for mutual recognition of carbon labels between Guangdong and Hong Kong, alongside the Round Table Dialogue on International Rules for Green Trade in the Greater Bay Area. The event was jointly sponsored by the Carbon Labeling Committee of the Guangdong Low Carbon Development Promotion Association, The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, and the China Foreign Trade Center. It was undertaken by CQC and CMA Industrial Development Foundation Limited.

Nearly 200,000 participants, including representatives from the Guangdong Development and Reform Commission, Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Provincial Market Supervision Administration, Provincial Department of Commerce, Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and other departments, attended the event online and offline. Technical institutions in green and low-carbon fields, various industry associations and representatives of Guangdong and Hong Kong enterprises participated in the event online and offline.

As the chairman and secretariat unit of the Carbon Labeling Committee of Guangdong Low Carbon Development Promotion Association, CQC Guangzhou signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Mutual Recognition and Cooperation of Carbon Labels between Guangdong and Hong Kong on behalf of Guangdong Carbon Labeling Committee and Chinese Manufacturer's  Association of Hong Kong.

In the future, CQC will develop detailed rules for mutual recognition of carbon labels between Guangdong and Hong Kong, and conduct mutual recognition of typical products. These efforts will help enterprises actively respond to international rules for green trade and enhance the green competitiveness of foreign trade industry.
