1 Certification Introduction

China began to implement the Three Green Projects in 1999. It was a systematic project aimed to establish and improve the food safety guarantee in distribution and slaughtering processing industry, focused on a strict market access system, and encouraged of green consumption, green market and green channel. The State Council highly recognized and praised the Three Green Project and issued The Decision on Further Strengthen the Work on Food Safety, emphasizing the regulation of food distribution and consumption, encouraging the implementation of Three Green Project.

3 Certification Scope

Green Market Certification applies to whole-sale and retail sites of agricultural products and their side products in China, including:

(1) Agricultural and sideline products wholesale franchise

(2) Agricultural products wholesale market

(3) Agricultural and sideline products retailer franchise: food supermarket, groceries

(4) Agricultural and sideline products retailer sites: supermarket, shopping mall.

4 Certification requirements

Certification mode: on-site audit + follow-up inspection

Certification lead time: it depends on the area of the markets, number of employees and market scale

Validity of certificate: 3 years
