To those related certification enterprises,

In accordance with CNCA [2009] No. 54 notice “Notice on New Standard for Compulsory Certification of Household Electrical Appliances as Refrigerator, Electric Oven, and Electric Stove etc.”, applicable standards for compulsory certification of household and similar electrical products including: standard GB4706.13-2008 “Household and similar electrical appliances – Safety: Particular requirements for refrigeration appliance, ice-cream machine and ice machine”, standard GB4706.14-2008 “Household and similar electrical appliances – Safety: Particular requirements for gridiron, toaster and similar portable Cooking Appliances”, and standard GB4706.22-2008 “Household and similar electrical appliances – Safety: Particular requirements for stationary electric stove, hearth, oven and similar appliances” have been released and will be taken effect on 1 April 2010, along with this, the national standard GB4706.1-2005 “Household and similar electrical appliances - Part 1: General requirements” has also been carried out.

Related requirements are listed as below:

I.       For those related products mentioned above, from the date the applicants receive the notice as of 31 March 2010, they could freely choose either the new standard or the old standard for certification application (if the old standard is chosen, sufficient time should be set apart to ensure that the certification could be obtained before 31 March 2010). New standard will be adopted for certification and new authentication certificate will be required from 1 April 2010.

II       Given that the difference between the new standard and the old standard is quite obvious, therefore, for those products that have obtained the compulsory authentication certificate, holders of the old authentication certificate should submit the standard version change requisition to CQC (the application steps are as follows, firstly, click “Fill out Certification Requisition”, secondly, click “Fill out Certification Transfer Requisition of Compulsory Products”, and finally, submit the transfer request.) after the new standard is released and before the next follow-up inspection is carried out.  And upon completion of a fully inspection for test samples with satisfactory results, the old authentication certificate should be renewed and a new one should be issued in accordance with the new standard.

III.     Transfer of old authentication certificates will be completed by 1 April 2011, if those certificates were not transferred on time, they would be suspended; If they failed to be replaced before 1 July 2011, they would be disqualified by CQC.
