I. Harsh Environment for Charging Equipment

Charging piles and their connectors are used in a very harsh environment, often facing environmental challenges such as insolation, rain, chemical erosion, etc. If they are used in the extremely cold areas in the north, the ambient temperature may be as low as -40 ℃. This leads to extremely high requirements for the weather resistance of materials used in charging equipment. Additionally, featuring large charging current and direct contact with human body, the charging equipment is also greatly challenged in the electrical insulation, heat and flame resistance of the materials used. However, domestic and foreign suppliers now provide products in different types and quality levels, and a uniform industry standard is also absent in the market, resulting in poor product matching, uneven performance, and severe waste and security risks.

In this context, China Quality Certification Centre (CQC), in collaboration with well-known charging pile manufacturers and material manufacturers in the industry, has compiled the Technical Specification for Non-metallic Materials for E-vehicle Charging Equipment Shell and the Technical Specification for Non-metallic Materials for E-vehicle Conductive Charging Connectors, and has carried out relevant certification.


II. Category and Mode of Certified Products:

Product Category: 134005 Non-metallic Materials for E-vehicle Charging Equipment

Certification Objects: Non-metallic materials for charging pile shell, non-metallic materials for charging gun shell, non-metallic materials for plugs and sockets of charging guns

Certification Mode: Product Testing + Post-certification Supervision

Note: The certificate is valid in the long run, but the validity is maintained through regular supervision.

V. Certification Features:

This technical specification is the first of its kind for non-metallic materials for charging piles and connectors in China. The requirements of GB, UL and IEC standards for materials are comprehensively used for reference. The materials are evaluated from the perspectives of aging resistance, weather resistance, flame resistance, heat resistance, and electrical insulation.

Acceptance by complete machine enterprises: Some domestic charging pile manufacturers have adopted this technical specification as a reference for material selection and supplier evaluation.

Voice of authority: This technical specification is jointly formulated with well-known charging equipment manufacturers and material enterprises in the industry, with a high degree of distinction, so the performance and safety of materials in complex service environments can be better guaranteed.
