Oman Energy Efficiency Certification
Public Time:2023-08-25 Origin:CHINA QUALITY CERTIFICATION CENTRE

Located in Western Asia, the Sultanate of Oman (hereinafter referred to as “Oman”) borders the United Arab Emirates in the northwest, and is adjacent to Saudi Arabia in the west and close to Yemen in the southwest, guarding the world’s most important oil export channel Strait of Hormuz. As early as 2000 BC, Oman had engaged in extensive sea and land trade activities and become the shipbuilding center of the Arabian Peninsula.

Pursuant to the Ministerial Decree No. (107/2018) of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) of the Sultanate of Oman, independent third-party conformity assessment bodies designated by the Directorate General of Standards and Metrology (DGSM) under MOCI can issue energy efficiency rating labels for air conditioning products in accordance with GSO 2530 Energy Labelling and Minimum Energy Performance Requirements for Air-Conditioners, which was enforced from July 25, 2019. On January 7, 2021, CQC was authorized by DGSM to become its designated conformity assessment bodies.

Application Scope:

Air conditioners with capacities up to 70,000 Btu/h (20kW) and below for single-package of window type, split-system non-ducted and ducted air-conditioners using air-cooled condensers, and heat pumps using air-cooled condensers for residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.

Attention:

Before registering the Oman energy efficiency rating label, the products must first obtain the GC mark certification certificate, and Oman is one of the target countries for export.

The registration period of the energy efficiency rating label is 1/2/3 years, and the manufacturer is obliged to reconfirm the registration of the label within 2 months before the expiration date of the registration every year.
