On August 3, 2026, a delegation from the "Seminar on Foreign Trade Product Standards and Conformity Assessment Policy for Asian, African and Latin American Countries," (hereinafter referred to as"the delegation") hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO) of the Ministry of Commerce, visited China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) for exchanges. The delegation comprised officials from relevant authorities of 16 Asian, African and Latin American countries. Niu Xiaotong, Deputy Director of CQC, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. Participants exchanged views on foreign trade product standards, conformity assessment policies, and future cooperation directions.
Niu Xiaotong stated that CQC faithfully fulfills its responsibilities and mission as a state-owned quality-service institution and has expanded international cooperation in certification and testing. The delegation's visit presented a valuable opportunity for all parties to learn from each other and strengthen alignment in conformity assessment and standardization. It is expected to lay a solid foundation for practical cooperation across broader fields.
During the interactive session, CQC experts systematically shared China's practical achievements and development experience in the coordinated advancement of standards, testing, and certification. Drawing on their national industrial realities, delegation members actively raised questions on topics including China's conformity assessment system, market access regulatory mechanisms, and capacity building of conformity assessment bodies. The on-site exchanges were pragmatic, in-depth, and conducted in a warm atmosphere.
The delegation spoke highly of CQC's achievements in building its conformity-assessment system and conducting international cooperation. Delegation members expressed hope for establishing a stable and efficient cooperation and communication mechanism with CQC in the future. They intend to further deepen cooperation in joint standard-setting, improvement of conformity assessment systems, empowerment of foreign trade industries, and quality enhancement of cross-border trade, so as to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes for all parties.
From August 5 to 7, CQC actively cooperated with AIBO of the Ministry of Commerce, coordinating and assisting the delegation in conducting field visits. The delegation successively visited CCIC Physical and Chemical Testing Co.,Ltd, CQC-IT, CAERI, and Ecovacs, where they learned about testing technologies for electronic and electrical products, automobiles, and cutting-edge developments in intelligent manufacturing. The delegation held discussions with personnel from each organization on key technical topics such as product standard adaptation, cross-border conformity assessment applications, and industrial quality improvement.
From August 9 to 10,CQC technical experts delivered lectures separately for the Asian, African and Latin-American participants, covering four major topics: international certification, export access and standard policy guidelines for electronic and electrical products, standards and conformity assessment for power transmission and distribution and industrial control electrical appliances, and green conformity assessment. The experts introduced the practical achievements of CQC and shared China's experience, providing references for the 16 Asian, African and Latin American countries to improve their standards and conformity assessment systems and empower the quality upgrading of their foreign trade industries.
Moving forward, CQC will continue to leverage its professional and technical advantages, further deepen cooperation with Asian, African and Latin American countries in the field of conformity assessment, promote the interconnection of certification and accreditation systems, support the "going global" of Chinese standards and quality services, facilitate regional cross-border trade, and contribute to the high-quality development of international economic and trade cooperation.
